The Melville Club Parish Magazine – June 2022 (no. 32)

When you read this Summer will be here & I suspect you maybe complaining it is too hot !! Please enjoy the summer, what with all the recent restrictions it is so nice to get out & enjoy ourselves, at long last.

The Melville Club Flag is still flying strong & we are doing our very best to support our members. We have quite a few plans for the early summer & hopefully bring some joy & excitement. Remember ~ smile….

Day Trip in to Llangollen: Monday 27th June 2022.

We have now booked the coach for a day trip to Llangollen. The price is £15.00 each & there are 49 seats. The Melville Club members will be offered a chance of booking & then on a fill up basis offered to non- members.  Should be an enjoyable day & let’s hope the sun will shine. Bookings to Vera Brooks, please.

Defibrillator.

It seems they have sold out ~ hence the delay !! We are now on the waiting list to purchase this internal device, bear with us & we will let you know. Derek Mattinson Training {based in the Redhouse} is on standby to train us on how to use it. Once the internal Defibrillator has been purchased & fitted, we will embark on the purchase of an external Defibrillator, possibly near to the Melville Club, main use will be for the local Community. If you would like to make donation, please contact any Melville Club member.

Sad News: Mrs. Mary Buxton.

Yet again we bid a sad farewell to another member of the Melville Club. Mary has been with us for the last few years & in the winter of her life really enjoyed the Wednesday lunches. Mary was such a character & had that image left over from the 1960’s. Thank-you Mary for all the time you spent with us, you certainly kept us on our toes & we loved it !! We offer our sincere condolences to the family from all the Melville Club members.

Internet Connection: Completed ~ Website in progress.

Well, considering the age profile of the Melville Club members, we are now all ‘experts’ & have been dragged into the electronic world of the 21st Century as we now have Internet facilities at the Melville Club. We now have the Melville Club Website under way & could now do with some help & assistance please.
