Merry Christmas everyone & we wish you all a very Happy New Year to all our readers. 2022 has been a very turbulent & demanding year for many of us & that’s just the weather !!. Winter is here, please keep warm.
It is extremely difficult to round up this year, I thought the previous years had been demanding, yet 2020 & 2021 exceeded all our expectations. Our quest is still to do our very best to keep the Melville Club Flag flying.
Defibrillator.
We are now embarking on the purchase of an external Defibrillator {yellow box} & are planning for this to be at the end of the village, near the vicinity of St. Mary’s Magdalene & the Shrewsbury Arms.
Friends of Albrighton: Based at the Melville Club.
Mrs. Siobhan Davies held the first meeting on Friday 4th November 2022 & the attendance was disappointing & hopefully it may catch on. We offer warm room, tea/coffee, cakes etc & activities. Melville Club members & non-members are all welcome. The future meeting{s} will be on 18th November, 2nd December & 16th December & then break up for Christmas
.

Melville Club Poppy: Remembrance Sunday 13th November 2022.
On Remembrance Sunday a Poppy Wreath will be placed by our chairman {Mandy} on behalf of the Melville Club in respect for all those who paid the ultimate & untimely sacrifice so we may live in peace.

Christmas Meal: Wednesday 14th December 2022 & Closure/Return Date.
We will be holding our Christmas Lunch for the members in the Melville Club this year. Due to our success of membership this year this will be a ‘ticket’ only admission due to the seating capacity & arrangements. We will be open on the 21st then shut for 1 week returning on 4th January 2023. If anyone is spending Christmas Day alone this year, please contact Mandy or Richard asap.
Farewell to dear friends.
Sadly, we have lost a few Melville Club members through 2022 {not Covid related} & maybe a few moments to pause & reflect on their lives & friendship. Ever mindful of those left behind, with the void & loss we all express our compassion & thoughts. Please give a silent prayer to those called to higher service:
Nancy Andrews, Shirley Thorpe, Val Lowe, Mary Buxton, Eileen Hyatt & Richard Kinsey.
Melville Club Team Work.
Again, I must extend sincere & warm thanks to all the Melville staff, team of cooks, helpers, delivering meals, cleaning, washing up, collecting food, it just goes on & on. What a fantastic job they have done thus far, just shows you what can be done when we all pull together. Big Big Big thank-you to all the team ~ thank-you.
