Well, are you ready for Spring ! Hopefully winter is now on the way out & Spring will soon be here. I definitely felt the cold this year, at times quite bitter. Have you noticed all the Spring flowers are popping their heads up, mainly cheer us up & make us all smile. Are you aware Albrighton has the highest age profile of pensioners in Shropshire. The Melville Club is ideal for Albrighton & we thank all the members for their support, help & understanding to keep the Melville Club active & alive.
Recent Passing of ‘Dr’ Paul Morton 100 Years.: RIP
Sadly, Paul died in early February having celebrated his 100th Birthday last summer, his birthday was on the 7th August. We arranged a surprise buffet, entertainment, raffle & a sing along. Paul, with his family really enjoyed themselves & it was really such a happy occasion, it just went all so well & everyone was happy. It was a joy to see the Melville Club serving its members in the best way we can & to help Paul celebrate such a very special day for such a special person. Farewell Paul & thank you for bringing such a bright beam of light & happiness to all ~ you will be sadly missed by all.
Visit to Trentham Gardens: Dr. Melville Legge Mini Bus: 15-Seater
We are now the proud owner of a 15-seater mini bus & this mini bus has been purchased to help assist the Melville Club members to get around the village & outings. First one out this year was to Trentham Gardens. All had a great time & really enjoyed their selves. We are now planning trips for 2023. If you have any feedback for day-trips please inform any of the Committee members.
Melville Club Lunch
A general reminder are you aware that the Melville Club offers a 3-course hot meal for £7.00, every Wednesday. On this day we also operate a warm room, similar to St. Marys Church, Village Library & other locations within the village. The Melville Club has been busy refurbishing our dining room, new blinds, new units etc big thank-you to all those who made this happen. Pop in & check us out !
Golden Years in the Melville Club
Mrs. Niccy Cottle is holding ‘The Melville Club “Golden Years” every Tuesday from 13.00 to 15.00 for light entertainment & refreshments. You do not need to be a member of the Melville Club to attend. Interested: ring Niccy on 07449 167116. You never know you may enjoy yourself & meet new friends.
