Albrighton's community centre for over 55s

The Melville Club Parish Magazine October 2023 ~ No. 46

Did you all enjoy the recent roasting weather, from past experience I am sure we will pay for it with a deluge of rain. This summer has been the most bizarre weather for many years, almost biblical !!

Melville Club Flyer Service

The Melville Club is pleased to announce that agreement has been reached with Shropshire Council to run a Melville Club Flyer Service on a similar basis to that previously operated by the APC.

The Community Transport Scheme facility offers local door to door transport at the existing subsidised fares to registered members on Mondays to Fridays between 09.00 & 16.00hrs. Requests for journeys outside of these timeframes will be considered on an individual basis by the driver Ken:- 07543 869754. Disabled passengers with wheelchairs & electric trollies can be accommodated with the elderly or infirm without their own transport given priority. Membership is free to registered Melville Club members – those aged 55 & above. Alternativity £6 per year for those only wishing to benefit from the Melville Club Flyer Service. Registration forms are available from Ken the driver.

Donation of Tail Lift from Albrighton Parish Council {APC} to the Melville Club Flyer Service

A warm & sincere thank-you to the Albrighton Parish Council for their kind gesture in the donation of the tail lift from the old Parish Flyer to the Melville Club Flyer Service. Gratefully received & well applied..

Permit 19:- Granted from Shropshire Council to Melville Club
