The Melville Club held the annual Garden Party in the grounds of the Melville Club on Saturday 19th July 2025 at 14.00.
Mrs. Jo Bough DL was the invited VIP. Everyone extended a warm welcome to Jo & she done a really super job. The damp weather curtailed the attendance slightly, however those who turned up had an enjoyable afternoon & we thank them for their loyal support.
The afternoon tea was well received. Big thank-you to Mandy & her helpers for the big selection of sandwiches & cakes. The Melville Club shop was open to continue raising funds for a defibrillator at Saxon Park {next to the Shrewsbury Arms pub}. Big raffle & thank-you to all the local businesses & individuals who kindly gave prizes.
The Melville Club is a charity for the aged & lonely {bit like Darby & Joan years ago}. Many of our members are in their senior years, in fact we have a 98 year old Royal Marine !! We currently operate three regular groups within the Melville Club, as well as every Wednesday we offer a 3-course lunch for £8.00 to help the elderly & try to involve them as much as we can. The Melville Club has its own mini bus where we can carry up to 14 people. This vehicle is also fitted with a tail lift to help people confined to a wheel chair.
